In Florida, a spousal support obligation, which is known as alimony, or child support obligation can bring into play what's known as a contempt action. If a party is not paying what they are court ordered to pay, one party can file what's known as contempt action. Now, there are many defenses that are available to a party if they are not able to pay. On the flip side of that, there are many things a party can do to enforce collection of such an obligation.
