Former College Basketball Player Accused of Failure to Pay
One of the members of a group of famed basketball players from a Michigan university has gained some unwanted press about his personal life.
After failing to make several child support payments, the former player was arrested. While he was released shortly after, he has been trying to work out an agreement with the state prosecutor's office to have his charges reduced. Since he owes $17,000, however, it is difficult to say just how lenient the prosecutor's office will be. Now that he has had a criminal action taken against him, the player could face more jail time if he does not start making payments.
His legal team has already started working on the case stating that he has paid $60,000 in child support for his 17-year-old son. While this is one bonus point for the former champion, it is said that he has failed to make consistent payments since 2008.
