Officer Arrested for Domestic Violence and Assault
Irony struck when a member of the domestic violence unit in one police department was observed dragging his own girlfriend in front of several sheriffs' deputies.
The two were at a festival when several people noticed the 55-year-old sergeant dragging his 44-year-old girlfriend. When officers spoke with the two, they realized that the woman was clearly intoxicated and that the two had gotten into an argument over drink tickets. It is uncertain whether the boyfriend was drunk as well, but it is known that the two were at a beer festival.
Even though he quickly identified himself as being part of the local police department, the man was not cut any slack. He admitted that he was in the wrong, but he was still arrested for assault. Officers transported him to jail where he posted bond later that day.
