New Law May Make it Illegal for Divorcing Spouses to be Intimate with One Another
A proposed law in Massachusetts could make it illegal for spouses to have sex with one another while they are attempting to get a divorce.
Allegedly, the state government is trying to implement the law wherein parents who have filed for a divorce cannot engage in sexual relations in their own household. The goal of the new bill is to prevent domestic violence and protect children during the divorce process. Those who do not support the bill are calling it ludicrous, even backwards, and a complete violation of individual rights.
Along with the proposed divorce bill changes, some legislators are hoping to change state laws regarding alimony as well. If they are successful, lifetime alimony payments would be outlawed, and a cap would be placed on how much a spouse could receive total from alimony.
