Man Challenges Paternity and Child Support
Posted on Dec 8, 2011 7:30pm PST
One man doubted the paternity of his child and obtained a DNA test without his ex-wife's knowledge. When the results turned out to be negative, the man then sued his wife for the child support that he had been paying.
Although the man's identity has been kept secret in order to protect his child, it is known that he has questioned the paternity of the child since his son was four years old. He first had doubts when his own mother questioned the paternity of the toddler. That doubt, coupled with the fact that his ex-wife had been caught cheating on him, led him to finally obtain the DNA test.
The wife has been ordered to pay him $12,969 total for the child support that he has paid her since their divorce was finalized.
