Athlete Accused of Domestic Abuse

One famous athlete has disappointed his team by getting arrested on serious charges.

The player was taken into custody last Friday on suspicion of attacking his ex-girlfriend. Based on her testimony, he was charged with felony domestic violence/substantial battery. While his teammates were able to enjoy their Thanksgiving weekend victory, the player was kept in jail since the courts were closed for the holiday.

Although the police are keeping mum about the details, it is known that the incident took place around 2:30 AM, but the victim did not call the police until 6:30 a.m. She was brought to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries, including a bump to her head and an injured right hand.
