Man Attacks Wife during Divorce Hearing
A meeting in the judge's chambers took a turn for the worse when a husband started attacking his wife over their divorce hearing.
Paul Henry Gonzalez reportedly started attacking his wife in front of their mediator, a judge, and the wife's attorney. This resulted in him being handcuffed and taken away. Both Gonzalez and his wife are former Marines who were meeting for what was scheduled to be their final divorce hearing. Although Gonzalez told the judge that he was leaving and could do "whatever," he soon returned to the chambers and started punching his wife with closed fists. When deputies arrived to arrest Gonzalez, he refused to cooperate and had to be Tasered twice.
His wife was taken to Holy Cross Hospital with a broken nose, torn lip, broken facial bones and swelling to her head. Gonzalez now faces additional charges of domestic violence, felony battery and resisting arrest without violence.
