Los Angeles Mayor's Divorce is Finalized

In Los Angeles, the divorce for Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has been finalized by a judge, meaning the marriage between the mayor and Corina Villaraigosa has been terminated.

In June 2007, Corina filed for divorce petition in Superior Court. In her petition, she cited "irreconcilable differences" as the grounds for her divorce.

Weeks prior to Corina filing a divorce petition, new sources spread a story that insinuated the mayor was having an affair with TV news person Mirthala Salinas.  The mayor responded and said that he took the blame for the failure of his marriage. The couple was married for 20 years and had no children together.
