Christina Aguilera Opens Up About Divorce

Although the singer/actress had been mum about the details before, Christina Aguilera is finally going public with the reasons behind her divorce. In a recent interview with People Magazine she said that "things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan [Bratman] and me, I knew I had to end it."  She didn't want their son Max to observe any more fighting between his parents, and Aguilera was also suffering from anxiety related to her unhealthy relationship.

The couple was married in Napa Valley in 2005. It has been reported that their marriage was strong up until the point that Aguilera was branching out in her career, particularly with her first film "Burlesque." Even after the birth of their child their marriage was steady; but once he started to get older the actress became more independent, adding stress to their marriage.

Bratman and Aguilera are attempting to be civil for Max, their son, but it has been difficult for them.
